Day-Quil

So, if Nyquil is good when you're sick and need to sleep, then why does Dayquil have the same effect on me? I took some earlier today and now I feel dizzy and kinda tired... and a little "out-of-body-ish," if you know what I mean... I don't know how else to explain it. But other than that, I feel great... sick-wise, at least.

Why is that? Dayquil, you suck.

Acetaminophen usually affects a person 1 way or another. A) sleepy/drowsy/woozy feeling in body or B) it will schiz them out, make the nauseous.

Acetaminophen is one of the main ingredients in most cough medicines. It always schiz's me out. They just put a lower dose in the DayQuil to cause less drowsiness.

Nothing to out of the ordinary for you to feel sleepy/woozy/drowsy.

It's good that you get at least some sort of effect out of it. Cough medicine usually does nothing for me.

I'd imagine its because of the main ingredient in cough syrups, DXM. It causes a lot of the side effects you're describing, and it a lot of it can even give you hallucinations. Day, Night, Buckley's, Robitessun, they all have it. You probably just have a low tolerance for it.

[Edit]ZoeMonster, Acetaminophen is the main ingrediant in painkillers. They may or may not use it cough syrup too, I'm not sure, but I'd doubt it would have a higher dose of it than a regular ol' tylenol. Plus, I've never heard of tylenol having side effects like that.
