Day 37 of a 31 day cycle. No sign of period coming but 3 neg tests. Thoughts?

I have a doc appointment next Friday (soonest I could get in) but I need some help now. I was due on Sunday and didn't start getting that dull achy feeling in my lower abdomen (normal PMS symptom) until Monday. I usually start PMS-ing about a week in advance. Nothing til a day after my pissed period. Now it's Friday and my breasts are swollen however they don't hurt...not even a little. Problem is that I've tested 3 times including a hour ago and they all came back negative. I work at a hospital so 2 of the tests I used were from there and not the drug store. Is it normal to have to wait this long for a positive test after a missed period. I've never been this late...EVER. I haven't been sick, I'm not stressed out at all, no weight changes. I can't think of anything that would change my cycle other than actually being pregnant. I realize that no one has special powers :) and can tell me whether I'm pregnant or not....I'm just looking to see if there are women out there who have waited this long or longer for their positive test. Any thoughts??
 
Sounds like your period is coming but it just arrived a bit late this month...If you usually have tender breasts right before your period then chances are that its coming. You can take a HPT right after your missed period-which you did. And if the test(s) told you that you are not pregnant, then you are not pregnant...You can take another one in a another week or so if still no period and if it will make you feel better...But for 100% accuracy just get a blood test. That will tell you the flat out truth with no wondering or guessing involved. Good Luck!
