Dawn of the Dead - excellent timing (tues 27)

tonight on sky movies 9 is the 2004 dawn of the dead.
10pm-11:40pm.

then...

11:45 is the original 1978 version.

both good in their own right, plus a 5 minute toilet break. as alan partridge would say, "jurassic park!"

If this is the zombie film about the helicopter and shopping center then the original was better then the remake, although i still enjoyed the remake.

On Sunday BBC2 showed the original Night of the Living Dead. After that, the Sci-Fi channel showed the original Dawn of the Dead while Sky Movies showed the remake and yesterday the Sci-Fi channel showed Day of the Dead, so it's been a real treat for Romero fans over the past few days.

I did find the remake surprisingly good.

No, but seeing as the unrated version is out on Region 1 DVD for

I saw Land of the Dead a few weeks ago in Edinburgh (George A. Romero came on stage and introduced it in person!).

It was a good yarn - better than Day of the Dead, I think, but not a patch on Dawn.

It is interesting how ones sympathy shifts from the Living to the Zombies in this latest film.

Oh - and we are back to slow moving zombies (unlike the lighting ones in the Dawn re-make).
