Agreed on both counts. The US ones are far funnier and Greg Giraldo (RIP) was pretty damned good on them. I usually highly rate Jimmy Carr but this roast was the poorest one so far. Most of them were very very unfunny, with more embarrassed laughter from the audience than genuine laughter.

This show was shockingly pedestrian. English people always complain that Americans are prudes and that they don't have a humour...but the American comedy roast is funnier and more shocking. How ironic.

Yea it was so tame for the most part that it was a bit fawning, and so not funny or even entertaining. The us ones really go to the line and have crazier comics like andy dick to liven things up.

We criticise our 'celebs' constantly though over here. All that stuff about her failed chat show, was there any of it that hadn't been said before? Therefore we will be less shocked.
