My daughter has had an allergic reaction to something, but we don't know what. Once about 7 months ago, and a few days of benadryl and it left. Two weeks ago she went to the doctor and they said it was mites, and gave her a prescription and it cleared. Today, she woke up with a red itchy face and a small rash in the inside of her arms. Nothing new as far as food, perfumes, etc. We are at a loss as to what it could be. any thoughts????

thanks

Man, there are a lot of possibilities. Believe it or not, I sometimes get rashes on my face from exposure to pollen!

Could it possibly be sunscreen or pool chemicals? Where has she been spending her time lately?

thanks, today she was itchy, but less red, so I guess that's good. I think she took benadryl last night, but was working a double yesterday and one regular today, so couldn't have more. I think she will be fine.

Has she continued all this time with the prescription? If she stopped it and it's come back, it's because she's been exposed to the allergen again.

My daughter used to get rashes when I used harsh detergent. I now use a detergent for sensitive skin and no more rashes!

I know it could be anything. I always worry it's a weird illness. I am thinking maybe something in the salad dressing she had. She really hasnt' altered her routine at all. I feel bad for her, it's uncomfortable and strange.

Thanks for answering.

I'm sure it's just a normal allergy of some kind. I'd stay on the meRAB for a couple of weeks and see what happens.

also, in addition to sensitive skin soap, I had to cut out bleach...or at least rewash if used bleach.

Thanks, good to think of with the bleach. I already use detergent without dyes and fragrances. I didn't think of the bleach though.

No fabric softener, either.

Basically, I have a set of soaps and personal care products (from sunscreen to shampoo) which are safe for me, and I just don't go outside it.
