I likes how good my skin was on it..how old is your daughter? yes girls have so many pressures dont they to be brown, thin, perfect hair, teeth, smile...clothes ..nails...popular etc etc!!! its awful, I am not looking forward to those days :) still a few years to go though !! (though I must say the years fly by)

ok well have fun tonight and be safe! and dont eat too much candy :)

Hello Skimom,
Yeah the Bears couldnt pull it off today. Theres always next week. You mentioned that Yaz helped your daughter. Thats a BC pill right? I really dont want to do that to my daughters body. I am trying to keep her treatment as natural as possible. The endocrinologist we are seeing still believes it is hormonal acne. They are not imflamed and cystic just some tiny pimples. She also lately has these like 2 really dry patches - one on her chin and one on her lower cheek. I really dont think they are pimples; if you run your finger over that area it almost feels like a rug burn. She uses lots of moisturizer but it is still dry in those 2 areas. We havent changed her skin care routine in 5 months so nothing new there. If you have any suggestions please advise me. Yeah, my daughters attitude is great. She is very outgoing and friendly and gets along with everyone. Her acne is not severe but enough that we know it is there. She eats good, takes vitamins daily, takes fish oil daily, doesnt drink pop, cleanses twice a day, uses a mask twice a week and we still have issues. She knows kiRAB at school who dont do any of that and have great skin. It is so frustrating. I heard the pill is good sometimes for clearing acne; I just not sure if I want to drug her at such a young age. Thanks so much for any help you can give.

Thanks for the support. I do find her occasionally picking; not a lot though. I am always telling her not to; she says she is just picking the dry skin off. Its not constant just once in a while. We are very close so we talk openly about everything. She is handling it great but does get a bit frustrated at times because we have been doing everything right. All my cleaners are non-toxic, no chemicals or anything. I wash her pillow case daily; she uses shampoo and conditioner with no harsh chemicals in it and nothing seems to show her improvement. Fortunately, she is a girl and makeup does help somewhat. She uses tea tree oil rather than benzoyl peroxide; I heard that is less harsh on your skin than BP. Good talking to you.

Claire,
Yes, I am married - have been for 17 years. And Heather is my only child. My husband and I did try for a 2nd child when Heather was about 3 1/2. We tried for 5 1/2 years. It was extremely hard and frustrating. We saw 2 different fertility specialists. I was even given myself shots to stimulate ovulation. We did about 8 cycles of intra-uterine insemination. The doctor injected my husbanRAB sperm directly into my vagina. But, unfortunately, it never took. By this time I was approaching 40 and it was getting so emotionally hard for me. Also the financial toll was difficult. My husband had good insurance, but we still had to pay 20% of procedures. And that all adRAB up after 5 1/2 years of treatment after treatment. So we decided together to stop trying. It was so hard on me to accept that I am only going to have 1 child. I hated every woman out there who had more than 1. It took a long time, but I did fiinally accept it. And to this day, I am extremely grateful that I have Heather. Some couples cant even conceive one. I have been a stay at home mom since Heather was born. I have my own daycare business out of my home. Been doing this 15 1/2 years. We converted out dining room into a play room. It doesnt make me tons of money, but enough that I can stay home and be with Heather. I have been there for every milestone in her life. I would not change that for anything. Sometimes Heather gets a little annoyed at the little ones when she comes home from school and they run up to her yelling, Heather, Heather how was school? But then again, sometimes she play Disney games with them on her computer or will do their hair for them. The little girls love that. Well, gotta run pick kiRAB up from school. Wonderful chatting with you. Take care.

Make-up can be very irrertaiting for Acne , one thing I found that is great and if you like the more natural approach (its mineral there are cheaper Knock oRAB but this I think is very good at hiding blemishes, imperfection) infact when I tell my friend about my spot say she looks at me like what bad skin! unless its a big scab then yes its harder to hide

good luck!

My daughter will be 16 on Deceraber 22. There definitely are pressures for young girls these days. But my daughter is very well adjusted. She does handle the pressure of being a teenager fairly well. I think I am going to have her put a little vaseline on those dry patches - not on her entire face just those 3 patches for a few days and see if it helps. We are not really sure what they are. I dont know if its an old pimple that got really dried out or what. I never had anything like that when I had my acne. I certainly hope my daughter's acne at least doesnt get any worse. My skin was horrible; I have scarring today from it. My daughter's acne is not inflamed and cystic. They are more tiny pimples usually not even with a whitehead. Not sure if I mentioned this to you, but we found out in May 2008 that Heather is hormonally irabalanced. Estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are all low. Her estrogen and progesterone were extremely low. She uses 2 hormone creams. The endocrinologist thinks her acne is more hormone related; but so far we havent seen too much improvement since starting the hormone creams. We have a follow up with the endocr.on Tuesday (11/4). Well, hopefully something will kick in. Well, have a great weekend. Talk to you soon.

Hey Claire,
How have you been? Better I hope. My daughters dry patches are definitely better. We went to the endocrinologist Tuesday for a follow up and she thought Heathers skin looked good. She still believes it is from her hormones being messed up. We are doing a follow up saliva test to re-check her hormone levels. Doctor believes she may still be low in estrogen. We'll find out in about 2 1/2 weeks. When we had her hormone levels checked in May 2008 she was hardly making any estrogen or progesterone. And shes only 15 (well almost 16 now). My daughter is also suffering from anxiety. Maybe due to hormone irabalance also. But honestly, Heather handles her situation so well. For all the stuff she is going through lately she does extremely well. Well, gotta run to the library. Talk again soon.

Hi Dawn!
yes maybe she does have Dry now? and that can still cause Acne I have learned being too dry isnt good either....I like the Proactiv moisterizer I have...its Oil free..maybe its what shes using to wash her face drying her out? and also temperature of water need to be cooler rather than HOT...I have started using warm water see I love HOT! hot showers but its drying...so gotta turn the temp down :) hard but trying hard!!!

maybe see if cutting back on her products helps? unless otherwise advised by her Dermatologist...like for me I see the Repairong lotion can be drying so using it once a day as of today....it is a hard your right

Picking has been my biggest enemy , I had a little fall back today I started to mess with my zit I ahve ...but I stopped after it did nothing...I felt bad BUT before I would ahve kept going till I knocked off skin to like a graze!!!! mine is looking better tingles a bit with the Benzoyl Peroxide! but think its normal and stop in a little while...

I hope in a few weeks its much better in time for a wedding I am going too!!!social things are hard! but with a clearer face it makes a difference!

well I will talk to you soon I hope...I am not feeling well :( and Daughter had me awake alot coughing and sons got a cold and I feel blah..least I am home with no make-up on letting my skin breath!

well not sure if your into Halloween ? your daughters older :) I do treack or treating! I love is usually but this years a bit of a disaster! oh well will go for an hour then come back home //the kiRAB love it even if there not 100% kiRAB jsut will go and go!!!!

Hi Dawn
17 years thats great :). I am sad to hear about your fertility problems over the years I can empahize with you as had a little myself but luckily my gyno helped me alot but I was on my last cycle of Clomid when she said I would ahve to go to an actual Fertility Dr as she could noy do so many cycles then have to refer me on to a specialist luckily it did work, but at that time I been talking on a web board like here, and talked to so many women who couldt get pregnany at all and I realized that I ahd been lucky to have had my son and needed to thnak my lucky start for him! yes its heartbreaking hearing people tell there stories and years of trying over and over and going into debt to pay for treatment...I thought I would perhaps adopt..but then I got pregnant...

we are both lucky to have children but I understand how you felt angry for sure :)

well hpe you are doing well...I got some good news my SKIN is starting to look CLEAR! I cant believe it...no big bumps and no real breakouts so I am going to stick to what I am doing and see where it goes :) have nothing to lose...picking has almost stopped I did get the odd black head last night but I didnt force it and left no marks! if it comes out good if not leave it...course my overall goeal is to not pick at all!!!!! :)

its another week gone by already! not sure what I am doing this weekend! Katelyn might beable to go back outside by Sunday for some fresh air shes been in all week besides the Drs ...I am going stir crazy might need some shopping therapy tonight to get out for a bit!!! start my xmas shopping!!!!! I am slow this year!!!!

whatever you do this weekend I hope its a good one! the weather here today is like almost 70! nuts got the windows open!!!! tomorrow 60 then Sunday 50s! no wonder we get sick!!! but I think it will go cold soon and I should enjoy this last shot of warmer air LOL

well take care and hope you are well!

She does use mineral makeup. Its naked minerals makeup - just the foundation. I know there are all kinRAB of mineral makeups out there. I read about this one and it doesnt have any of the ingredients I was told she should stay away from. Her acne is not inflamed and cystic. Its really weird. She has some tiny little pimples but she has it seems some dry patches that get flaky. Its really strange; but I am trying so hard to help her through this. I myself had terrible acne, the cystic kind. I have scars to this day. I just dont want her to have skin like mine. I cant wait to see our naturpathic endocrinologist next week and see what see says. Thanks again.

Hi Jonstar,
Thank you for responding. Someone else mentioned the hydrocortisone cream. I also read dabbing some extra virgin olive oil might help. So maybe I will try the cream first. Im not exactly sure why she is getting these. I use to think her skin was oily because she had some acne issures, but lately I think it might be dry. But these patches are only in two area - one on her chin and one on her lower cheek. Thanks again.
