Dating culture: UK vs US?

I'm curious if you think there is a distinct difference between dating an American and dating a Brit.

If yes, in what ways?

If no, why?

(Oh, and if you are wondering why I'm asking this question...my long-term bf is English and I'm American. We occasionally discuss whether there are differences or not, etc...)
 
I met a guy from Texas (in London) when I was on a brief break in a relationship with my boyfriend. Nothing happened, but I still noticed a few differences. He was actually a really nice guy, and I found the different accent quite nice. I know there is a greater binge drinking culture in the UK which isn't so great, but I'm sure it still exists for some in the US. I reckon you'll have a more football (or "soccer" for the Americans of you reading this) mad man if he was from the UK and a more baseball/basketball/american football mad guy if he was american!
The truth is that apart from this and culture in general, you just can't generalize people. Sure, some english men are complete gentlemen, my boyfriend is, but this isn't typical. Everybody is different.
