date of enlistment and how soon you can leave for boot camp?

Is how soon you can leave for boot camp after the day you enlist a reflection of the need and/or availability of the job you signed up for? Or do people often have significant time between the two dates for preparation for boot camp? How often do people get to sign up and leave within the same month?
I myself enlisted the 5th for Navy CTI, and somehow I'm getting to leave the 28th, with a 12,000 bonus. Is it normal to sign and leave this soon?
 
That is the determining factor on when you leave for bootcamp! Its all about the need of the branch your going into. I had 2 1/2 months before I left but only because my rate was waiting and counting on openings. What are you going to do? Maybe I can further help you on your choice of career paths.
 
They start the training for a certain MOS on the a certain date in a certain place we will say you are trying to be an MP (military police) they have a day picked to start basic we will say July 14 and the place of course is Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri... if you signed up on June 1st that's how long you would get to prepare if you sign up in February you would have a longer time to prepare also if it is full already then you would be signing up for the next time they would be starting for that certain training... hope it helped!
