The story of hopeless romantic Julia Jones, who has finally met the man of her dreams, the very British Grant Fonckyerdoder. But before they can have their Big Fat Greek Wedding, they'll have to Meet the Parents; hook-up with The Wedding Planner, and contend with Grant's friend Andy - a spectacularly beautiful woman who wants to put an end to her Best Friend's Wedding.

Made by the same people as scary movie, takes the mickey out of date movies.

Looks like it could be good, daft, but then again scary movies were and I enjoyed them.

But surely the Scary Movie genre is taking the rise out of 'scary' movies (which, in my view, deserve to be parodied!). Meet the Parents etc are comedies however, so I don't see how that can work? i.e. a comedy taking the rise out of a comdey?

I think Date Movie is parodying romantic comedies, which still have that "emotional drama" that can be parodied. Plus comedies tend to be as unrealistic as horror films somethings.

Probably will see it, im an Alyson Hannigan fan. The current teaser poster has a nice tongue-in-cheekness to it.

I agree, you can't really make a joke from a joke can you? Meet the Parents is a comedy, so I don't exactly know how they can go above that and make it funnier. After all, parodies are supposed to take the piss out of other movies, how can you take the piss out of something that wasn't serious in the first place?

I heard that it's also parodying Kill Bill and Lord of the Rings. Since when did fantasies and martial art revenge flicks turn into 'date movies'?

I am looking forward to seeing this and I think it would work. They could parody all the cheesy and corny bits of romance movies (that i hate so much) :D . The Lord of the Kings skit could be work because of the gay undertone that certain people believe it has.

I don't think I have laughed so much at a trailer before. Seriously, as soon as it came on, I couldn't breathe for laughing. I'll definitely see it when it comes out.
