Olly: That is very interesting, and something I was not aware of (the exact port being blocked).

Shoutcast is something I've never tried, or any heavy-duty streaming for that matter. Everything i've ever tried to stream just somehow ends up being pushed to Real. For instance, the new mobile youtube site. I tried that without success. Also, orb. Have never got that to work... But I also havent fiddled with server side settings at all, and I hear thats what one needs to do.

In any event, phono will now start exploring the world of realplayer-independent streaming apps and services. Any suggestions for some that are worth checking out would be appreciated (shoutcast is one obviously )

Thanks once again for some excellent tips Olly.

Cheers,
Phono

As one English major to another, that's, like, way cool, dude! I'm tempted to order an SU-8W today.

What app do you use to compose a 10+ page paper? Does it have any word processing features such as formatting and a spell checker?

On your BB connect, do you also get unlimited SMS?

Here in Houston, I'm still on TMobile's $5.99 plan, and my HTML along w/ google map works perfectly.

Yeah, you're not kidding. Its also pretty cool to get down some prose or ideas while on the go. I also sometimes wake up, turn over and throw down some notes in the middle of the night (dreams and such). It really is handy as hell. And it really does turn your phone into a laptop replacement.

I use Mobi-Systems Office Suite. I've got the full version, so yes, its a word processor. It has some formating things to screw with, but I dont really touch em. I will say though, it protects and shows any pre-existing formating done before hand, or after a revision. It also displays pictures, tables etc. For me, as long as it supports double spacing and times new roman, its good to go.
Its spell check sucks, so I usually have it turned off. I really dont know why the spell-check is so weak, but it is. I mean really though, I use it more for raw input than polishing papers... That 10pg paper was transfered to my laptop after the bar, where serious revision occurred. But, that paper got "done" on my phone at the bar... And that was cool beyond description

Phono

Oil Fighter, I sure dont. I pay for my stupid sms.

And yeah, I'm in Houston too, and my google maps worked just fine with the basic 5.99 plan. It was really just certain, specific apps that stopped working recently. But, I got exactly what you mentioned above, and was happy with the service for a long time.

Go Texans!

I have Mobisystems Office too, because, unlike Quickoffice, it can open password-protected documents. Never tried using it for input, but the BT keyboard will make that feasible.
