i'm looking for a new phone. i'd like one with a touch screen, full keyboard and one with a lot of memory that can hold music since my ipod was recently stolen. the Motorola Backflip, the new android phone form AT&T, seems to be just what i'm looking for.
right now, amazon.com is having a sale where you can get the Backflip for $.01 if you continue a contract with AT&T, which i am. but right now, i'm part of a family plan and only pay the $10 a month. according to amazon, the $30 a month data plan is required for 181 days to get the sale price. i really only want the phone for the apps and the memory and stuff, not necessarily for the internet and facebook and everything. i was wondering...after this 181 days of getting the data plan, can i stop using the internet and cancel the data plan and go back to my $10 a month plan? does the Backflip work without a data plan?
