data cable help

Hi. I just got the DCU-11 cable for my Z500a phone. It came in a green and white box with no visible brand names. My PC does not see it at all though. It came with drivers and I installed them, but on my computer I dont get the found new hardware wizard, and when I try to add new hardware it does not detect it at all. What is wrong?
 
In Device Manager, do you see any line with ! or ? mark? If yes, right click on the line and select uninstall to remove it and then see if your PC detects any new hardware. If you don't see any line with ! or ?, then try plugging the cable to another usb port. If it still doesn't work, try it in another computer. If you get the same no response from another computer, chances are your cable is faulty.
 
Check in control panel, under Phone monitor options, Check that the com port you are using, is enabled. Also chek the plug to the phone is correctly seated, I gave up and use bluetooth for this reason.

What you have to do is put the drivers, install them, reset the computer an only then put the cable and after connect your sony ericcson
 
If you think everything is set up correctly, reinstall the SyncStation application, that has worked for me 2 times in the past.
