You know, my recent put-downs on the DtB OST made me take out the CD for the first time in over a year and actually listen to it. And now I think I'll miss Kanno. Even though this isn't her most inspired effort, it definitely lent the show the atmosphere it needed. "Deadly Work" and "No One's Home" are made of win too. The jazz tracks are half-hearted reprisals of stuff she did better in Bebop, but the more elegant tracks ("Was", "Yin's Piano" and "Kuro/Black" in particular), the hard rock track "Outside", and the vocal tracks are generally pretty good.
If the new guy can give DtB the necessary atmosphere and no cheesiness his score should be acceptable.
