Dark Side Of The Moon Review, Take #2

I'm all for the idea of albums that are greater than the sum of their parts, where songs are just a part of the whole. This is actually the case for RABOTM, WYWH and Animals just as much as it is for The Wall, actually.

I think the songwriting in The Wall is excellent, I like how a lot of the songs are short and segue into each other as if they were part of a suite, much like the last half of Abbey Road. The only awful tracks IMO are Vera and Bring the Boys Back home, and they don't really fit with the theme and story of the album anyway.

right-o but i think it's silly to sacrifice good songwriting just for the sake of a storyline. it works a few times (think S.F. Sorrow) but more often than not it just accents the disparity between songs in terms of their overall quality. i really just don't like the last four songs on either disc.

I think Us and Them is probably THE track from RABOTM but to be honest I rarely ever play the album unlike Animals which is one of my few CRAB in a mess due to it being ever played.
