Bruce Wayne saving the mofo that tried to rat him out as Batman He could've let that fucker die, but in true batman style put his life on the line to save someone else.
 
Rachel's death scene was really profound and fucked up if you pay attention carefully. They assume she's going to be saved so she's sitting there obviously distraught but cozy in the knowledge that she's the one who will be saved and she's consoling Harvey who they both think is going to be the one todie. Then she hears batman bust in on Harvey over the radio and her face just fucking falls, suddenly she's the one who's going to die and everything changes she almost looks contemptuous about the situation like she doesn't believe she could really be killed. Suddenly she doesn't have any words of comfort. If I remember right she's broken off mid sentence too when batman finds harvey.
 
Nolan's whole Batman universe is rather milleresque. People are going to be comparing the two jokers for a while but you can't really... they both fit the movie that they appear in.
 
i think the funeral was to save the image of Harvey Dent as the public remembered him, their white knight, Batman said something to this effect to Gordon when they fell out of the building

I honestly think Nolan should start 3 off with a scene following his speech at the funeral and going to the Assylum to talk to Two-Face and tell him how it went, that would be

that was a REALLY good movie and blew away any expectations I had about another mediocre "safe" batman movie

TRULY nailed the fucked-upedness of the Joker
