DARK KNIGHT ENDING DISCUSSION. *SPOILERS

First off for the people at teh start of the thread, Heath Ledger didnt commit suicidie or drug OD ala River Pheonix.. he mixed perspeciption drugs and didnt wake up. HUGE difference.

Also i read a couple of months ago that they had intendted on having the Joker in the third film.. which explained his ending.

No no, they could have still faked his death, had the memorial, blah blah...except we would KNOW he's locked up and out of the public eye. Batman still taking the fall and making Dent the hero gotham needed.

Meanwhile between this installment and the 3rd is when the twoface really comes to life.

I barely knew he was there...I just ignored him

I didn't like the direction they went with Rachel in this film, but since she was going to be offed anyway, it made sense. She may not have been "beautiful", but she was effectively flirtatious.

Yes, that abruptness was a clue. It was used a couple of times in the movie.

He did?

Keep in mind that it's PG13 so we have to draw our own conclusions. I thought he passed out from either the fear or the act itself of being cut. As for the pool stick, he mentioned that he had room for one more in his crew, so he let those two guys fight it out to see who would join him...otherwise they'd both be killed.

Batman's whole motive is to get people to care about saving their city. Nobody gave a shit and allowed crime to take place before he came along. But he can't do it alone, so Harvey was the one who was supposed to take the torch. If the public were to find out about Harvey they would lose hope again. Batman is only a figure. Bruce Wayne has his own identity, so what people think of Batman doesn't really matter to him. If Batman needs to be the bad guy, then he's willing to make the sacrifice, especially since the people were already turning on him.

voice disguise. sometimes you just get into character that much.

It's G-13 classified but just trust me, that shit works.

I thought the joker was in the movie quite a bit. What other bad guy had as much screen time as him? Plus it's not just about him but what he can do/have done without doing it himself. The "why so serious" part was the most enjoyable for me. I was excited to see a crazed joker instead of a "trickster" type. I feel that this is the Joker that the writers in the 40's tried to capture, but they nor did mental health professionals truly understood this brand of sadistic, sociopathic psychosis. Leave the game playing to the Riddler and let the Joker be this more complex badass as the compliment to batman that he's always meant to be.

Yeah, I loved Batman Begins, and the fact that Nolan went there.

Just as a comic book movie, Dark Knight is so fucking... superior. Most probably because it was more of an epic crime movie than Batman Begins was.

do you even read the comics...??

after the Joker kills the 2nd Robin (or not as we later find out) Batman goes ape shyt on him n almost kills him...

Joker needs time to heal...

he manipulated Two-Face into going after Batman 'cause he knows it'll keep him busy 'til the Joker gets well...

Joker is Batman's nemesis...

Two_Face is like number two..

then the Riddler....
