Dark knight DVD-cuts?

...self explanatory really.
Have any cuts been made to TDK by the BBFC?
Having just watched it, it seems as though huge chunks of the film are missing.
The Jokers (unseen) escape from the cell after taunting the Cop to beat him up is the one that sticks out most-or is this just the way the film was assembled (leaving much to the imagination)
I hate censorship I really do, even a few seconRAB here and there, I find an insult to the average persons intelligence.

I'm trying to remember the conema movie version.

I think I remember the same gap in the film tbh. I don't think it's a cut.

Can you positively remember the scene where the guy says "I know you're gonna enjoy this, I'm gonna have to try to enjoy it more"...then something happens..

Now you mention it maybe it is cut....don't know?

Anyone else?

Apparently Chris Nolan was pleased with most of what he shot so most was used the only thing i remember he revealed he left out was wat happened when The Joker left the party after he threw Rachel outta the window. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0468569/faq#.2.1.178 shows my first bit. I got the original shooting script (thats what its called its not exact 1 but is the same) not much is left out a few tiny bits with dent. The Joker speaking with an old ladies voice before telling everyone hes gonna blow up the hospital.

It isnt cut at all as that was how it was in the cinema. If you watch him when he is out you wil notice he has a broken piece of glass at the policemans throat so we are left to assume that is what he threatened him with.

I don't think it's that it's expensive, it's just that companies know that Blu Ray owners are less likely to stand for a cut version of a film when they've spent so much on it. People with BR players obviously take their movies seriously. In the case of A&D the Blu Ray contains both the theatrical cut and the extended version, while Robin Hood is now uncut on DVD too (restoring the F word).

Thanks for the info and link to the BBFC site-i didn't know it existed.
I still think that sooner or later an extended/directors cut of TDK will surface.

That could very well happen. Christopher Nolan said only one full scene was cut and that was after the Joker leaves the Penthouse party and gets in his waiting car. The rest of the stuff was just little bits of dialogue here and there but they weren't actual scenes. If you watch through the TV spots and various trailers you will notice many alternate takes that were not used in the film. I always felt the shot they showed of the Joker saying 'Hit Me' in the TV spot was far more creepy than the ones shown in the film. Also him driving the truck saying 'i like this job' didnt really work. Him saying ' I looooooove this job ' was far more funny.

It is known that the jail scene between Batman and Joker was the first scene both of them shot together and was the first time they had seen each other in full costume and makeup. There was apparantly a lot of improvisation and it went on for over 20 minutes so obviously that has been cut down completely.

Can I just add that I thought the extras were p*ss poor.
NO commentary
NO deleted scenes or outtakes

just MANY similar trailers, an extended advert for IMAX and some other bits 'n bobs I havent brought myself to sit through yet.:(
What a waste of a second disc.
8/10 for the film
1/10 for the extras

Thanks for the second great link!:)
I just looked up "Indiana Jones and the temple of Doom" which I remember reading at the time, was one of the most censored films.
I actually have the NTSC version but have never got round to watching it.
The cuts are still made after all these years in the recent re-releases Boo:mad:

If you look for the full interview with Michael Caine online you will see the scene he speaks about is when the Joker burts into the party looking for Harvey Dent. He said that was the first time he had seen Heath in full Joker makeup. I know he didn't have any lines in that scene but i just think he meant was a little shaken and had to compose himself.
