Dario Argento's Inferno - anyone seen it? Can you even get it?

Hi Guys

I loved suspiria, and I've been dying to watch Dario Argento's Inferno.

Has anyone seen this, and does anyone know if it's available anywhere in the UK??

Apparently it's quite rare to get hold of...:eek:
 
I've seen it but I didn't really like it and I loved Suspiria.

It's interesting and very stylish but it's a bit too weird to follow as it does not make a lot of sense.
I still would recommend watching it though.


Not sure about DVD availability but if you have Sky it is on the Horror channel occasionally.
 
I haven't got it on dvd but I have it on Anchor Bay VHS in that nice video box that I bought in America some years ago, can never remember the name of the box type.

It's not my favourite Argento film but still worth the look, hope you get it on dvd.
 
I had it on video and it was quite a weird film for me.

really liked it, but it kind of sent me into a semi-comatose state because it was soooo slloooooowwwwwww ...

but .. and i'll spoiler this .. if i can remember exactly what happened :)

it was quite late in the evening when I watched it, and when the mother of death was revealed at the end, it really sent a shiver down my spine!! :)

just reminRAB me of the time I bought an original copy of the bird with the crystal plumage on video, sold it in the record and tape exchange for about 2 quid and found out not 24 hours later that there was only like 12 copies ever released on video in this country :)
 
I'm happy with the video, looks too nice to replace :) I have the ones I really like on dvd. Got Phenomena on the same style ntsc video and want to keep that too.
 
Not sure where that rumour started.

BWTCP was released in an horrific pan and scan job by Vampix for rental distribution but a few years later it was re-released on the budget sale label Stablecane from the same appalling master.

Tottenham Court Road's Land of Video had dozens of copies.

In the mid 80's the dreadful tape was the accepted standard for 2.35:1 films - but it did make the film amusing to watch with so much important picture info missing off the sides - not forgetting the squeezed credits which made what was actually happening onscreen very difficult to see- believe it or not there are actually mu$s out there who are happy watching with half the picture missing
 
The Phenomena dvd is also with 5.1 sound - or the US one is at least .

Are the tapes even in widescreen?

Did you know Phenomena was released in the UK in the mid 80's as Creepers with more than 20 minutes missing.

You should get that Inferno dvd while you still can.

Its been deleted quite a while and may get hard to find.

There is still no UK release
 
Yep, knew it was called Creepers somewhere. I prefer the title Phenomena.


The Phenomena I have is widescreen yes. Same for my Inferno, and Deep Red videos. All are uncut and uncensored. I think the video boxes are called clamshell? the thicker, round black ones.
 
Yes - but cruelty to animals that has been instigated purely for the purpose of filming it is not a NATURAL occurrence and thats why it gets cut .

The BBFC now even edit horsefalls from 40 and 50 year old westerns even though BBC and ITV often show them uncut.
 
I would like Phenomena and Deep Red on dvd, just not fussed enough to get Inferno on dvd. Once I get them on dvd I will still be keeping the vhs editions.
