I really love this film I also have the HD DVD to this and think its great.

I have also seen Volcano but think its no where near as good.

The bit with the dog and the car driving through the lava is hilarious. Plus that irritating old granny! She had to die I'm afraid.

It's got every cliche going for it but i love it. Perfect blend of plot and action that boils towarRAB the finale.

And unlike Volcano, it's also got a good amount of geology in it.

I agree. Daft old bint nearly cost all their lives because she didn't want to leave her precious mountain.

I remember an Empire reviewer saying that Twister, which came out at a similar time, benefitted from a truly surreal scene where a floating cow goes past the pickup truck and that Dante's Peak is missing such a surreal image. Well Mr up your own arse Empire reviewer, I thought the acid lake was a hell of a surreal scene and you can keep your flying cows.

I saw a bit on ITV HD the other night and the quality was no where near as good as the HD DVD and is now coming on Blu Ray.

it's my favourite volcano movie of the month that it came out

I think this was because they didn't air a HD version. My Sky Planner shows HD content in Orange, but sometimes even on a HD channel it doesn't show up as orange, and I assume this is because it is not HD content.

And the other week I noticed it was on but I also remember noticing it wasn't orange.
