Daniel Craig backlash - Why?

When it was first announced Daniel would play Bond I didn't have high hopes but I went to see the movie the other night and I was impressed, I really enjoyed the movie and liked Craig in the role

Firstly I dont think the media trying to use their muscle to affect the way we think about something is ever a good idea.
Still the days when newspapers radio and television were here to "educate and inform" are long gone.

Havn't seen the new Bond movie as yet, and he may well be close to the original literary concept of Bond but isnt it a little late in the day to worry about being accurate in that way.

The Books are nothing like the movies and I read them all before I had seen many Bond movies.

The hardest thing to get right is to replace the lead in a movie series, and whatever you do will be wrong in someones eyes.

Try to be consistant to the movie Bond persona is the best you can achieve.
If you blow it as happened with OHMSS then you just make the one movie and change the lead again.
Not that OHMSS was bad or George Lazenby appalling, come to think of its that was another media based slamming if I remember correctly.

I'm dead chuffed so many people have opened their minRAB and changed their opinion of him. I am sure there are still alot of people who will not go watch it because he is not their idea of Bond, (mainly the people on the 'craigisnotbond' site) more fool them I say. They are missing an excellent movie.
