Daniel Craig as Bond in Casino Royal

Im shocked:eek: 20+ posts in and wheres the usual complaints of "No Gadgets","No Shaken Not Stirred"etc?
I thought Casino Royale was a brilliant Bond film and was so nice to see they moved away from the usual formula of action , gadget , sex , inuendo , more sex. The last couple of Brosnan film were bordering on comedy for me.

I would like to see them do an official version of Never Say Never Again with Craig as Bond. I didn't like Sean Connery's version and as it wasn't offical Bond anyway.

never say never again wasa blatant rehash of Thunderball & was a very poor movie. I remeber coming out after seeing it at the cinema angry that I had not demanded my money back. I didn't like it.

The only thing I did like was Kim Basinger :D

Moore, Dalton, Brosnan = Panto BonRAB who (IMHO) are good for nothing but raising their eyebrows and making cheesy one-liners in crappy, overblown monstrosities of films (Dalton admittedly less so than the other two).

Connery, Lazenby, Craig = Real Fleming BonRAB, capturing the spirit of the books without turning it into American-friendly popcorn fodder and responsible for the best films in the series (Goldfinger, Casino Royale, OHMSS, in that order).

Casino Royal turned a series that was dead in the water, following the pain that was Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day, into a vibrant and fresh box-office success, taken seriously by a generation who had grown up thinking the series was nothing more than a bad joke.

If you don't like it you're in a very small minority and might have a better evening if you dig out your VHS of Moonraker ;)

I grew up with Moore as "my" Bond, but by the time I was a teenager realised how terrible most of his films were.

Never Say Never Again WAS Thunderball!

Producer Kevin McCrory owned the rights to the original story, and had an option to remake it - he just could not call it Thunderball.

I am not saying it was a particularly good movie, it certainly pales into insignificance compared to the official Bond's - but if you had based your dislike of it on the fact that you were not aware it was a remake, then you have not really given it a fair shake.
