Spiritual classical music and elegant non erotic dance movements depicting devotion were un known in the deserts.
The only music they knew was the belly dancing sensual and erotic type not suitable in religious functions.
As with most things in Islam, they have thrown out the baby with the bath water and declared Music and dance Haram.
To give u an example
Cutting of some ones hand out of hate is a sin or Haram.
But cutting off the same hand by amputation to save a life as in when infection sets in can not be declared a sin.
Common sense has taken a back seat with such rigid and ridiculous mind set.

I came to know that between a husband and wife any form of dancing is permissible, providing it is neither injurious nor humiliating in the eyes of either party.
Give me the Logical reason how it is possible that without any interface to music and dancing(as they are haram) ; How the above mentioned occasion for singing and dancing can be celebrated ??
How this rule(permission) can be acted without some major type of violation like listening music ,watching dance e.c.t ?Is it allowed for married to watch dance and listen music?

hmm Good question..

in my opinion... "watching" a dance is worse than you're watching a Non-mahram !..

"listening to music" (not music video, only audio) is however permissible since it doesnt voilate any rule stated in Quran.

Hope I answered you..
