I'm an irish dancer with extremely weak ankles so as you can imagine it gets annoying when i twist my ankle a day or two before competing.has anyone got any stretches or tips that could help me with this? thank you!

You could maybe use some stretches that ballet dancers use for training their demi-pointe to progress onto full pointe. I will list some below as these are used to strengthen ankles and feet.

1- stand with your feet in parralell and plié. Then, with your weight still over your toes, rise onto your tip-toes and push your weight over.

2- With your feet first in paralell rise and lower on and off your tip-toes. Repeate this 5 times and then move into a ballet first position (with your feet in a V shape) and the ballet second (same as first but wider)

3- Sit on the floor and point and flex your feet. Do this first together and then alternitivley. Repeate this about 10 times eaach and then stretch them out by crouching down and then straightening your legs

I hope this helps :) and good luck in your competitions
