Dancing Amongst the Shade

Love was a faucet made of gold
In the summer’s early sunshine--
A girl whose fortune was untold
Lying on a distant cloud nine.
Dancing amongst the blacktop’s heat,
Wearing a partially ripped dress
Clouds parted for her quickened feet
Sun arousing her tender breast.
Anticipation has forgone
Any thought within her mind’s eye
Skipping the awakening dawn’s
Subtly displaced, defying lie.
The street melts with certain pleasure
As her feet blend with blackened road
A distant cry, human treasure,
Coerces the cold man-made mold.
Heat and chill uniting with force
As woman’s pleasure, Satan’s will,
Follow the sun’s decisive course--
Just before the last garden’s till.
