Dancer in the Dark.

Brilliant film. Bjork deserved her Cannes award too. Loved the way the songs were integrated into the drama.

Powerful emotional punch at the climax.

Recommended.

I adore this film- although I heard one reviewer criticising the editing during songs and I agree that it is annoying!!

Bjorks acting in this is great- I love the last section of the film, after she gets caught... has me bawling all the way to the end.. she really is a great actress in this and I heard she refused to act again after this film (I dont think she enjoyed the experience) and what a sad thing it is that the acting world has been denied her...

I think something like the emotion she had to bring out to act in certain scenes was too much for her to enjoy doing again for a film. Shame, would love to see her in more films.

I have seen "the idiots", it's quite a unique film, breaking the waves was a bit dull and i gave up watching it.

I watch a lot of subtitled foreign films, some are better than others,i like all the communist era films as that part of history intrigues me.Last night for example i watched emir kusturica [sarajevo director] film called huddersfield, must be the only film ever made featuring huddersfield, but it fits in with the odd nature of the director,he makes wild and crazy films.

Believe it or not i saw bjork before you were born, she was in an anarchist punk band KUKL back then 26 years ago, their concerts were only

By far my favourite film of all time. We watched it again last night and I was blubbing like a baby as per usual. Shes a stunningly authetic actress.

I love Dancer In The Dark and Breaking The Waves.
I wasn't aware that The Idiots formed a trilogy with those other 2 films. The Idiots was a Dogma film wasn't it? Breaking The Waves influenced the formation of the Dogma movement but wasn't a Dogma film itself AFAIK, and Dancer In The Dark certainly wasn't.

Dancer in the Dark is one of the most gut-wrenching films I've ever seen.

The thing which gets me is how her character actually
sings when she gets hanged - all the other times it was in her head
