dance team tryouts...?

I want to try out for my dance team next year, but i'm not so sure i'll make it. I take Jazz and Tap classes, but this is my first year in dance. I'm flexible (the only thing i can't do is my straddle split, but i'm working on that.) and can do the basics, like grand jetes and pirouettes.

any tips on what i'm gonna need to be able to do or what i should work on?
 
hi! ok so im on my schools dance team and i felt the same way that your feeling rite now so the categories are

1.pom
2.jazz
3.high kick
are your main so i suggest practicing your kick and they don't need to be high just make sure ur toes are pointed legs is straightbecausee its better to see that than a bent high kick so yea



pom, pom is very easy its just very sharp so make sure to be very sharp with your movements and finish them its good to do everything full out


ok another thing is you turns dont forget to spot!! you need to atleast do two or three also practice your toetouch and your heelstreach like that other had said so yea thats about it i hope this helped u and gooood luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Well it's ok that you can't do splits every girl has her limits. I can't do them either. Practice you leaps and turns. That is important. In the tryouts be yourself. Don't let anyone be the judge of you. I am sure you'll do great.
 
OK, Here are the things you should practice :)
1.Your full leap
2.Double/Triple pirouettes
3.Grab your heel and stretch it all the way up *heel stretch*
4.Timing
5.For tap you don't really know what to expect, but i would just practice maybe you last year routine
