Hi there, I am currently studying media at A Level and for my research in coursework I need to ask people a few questions and thought it would be a good idea to get other people than within my community to help me out
so I would really appreciate it if you could answer my questions, thanks!

1.) What

1.) What’s your favourite type of music?
Usually some type of rock.
2.) Which are your favourite Band / BanRAB?
Emarosa, Coheed and Carabria, and Placebo.
3.) What is your opinion of the music genre Dance?
I feel like dance music is different for everyone! I dance to hip hop, my mom dances to freestyle or house, I don't know.
4.) What do you usually associate with dance music?
Anything you can dance to?
5.) Where do you most often see advertisements for this genre of music?
At clubs.
6.) What makes a music video enjoyable for you?
I love when music videos are creative, like Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance."
7.) How often do you buy music based magazines?
I only buy music based magazines when an artist I really like is on the cover. Someone I'd want to put on my wall.
8.) What characteristics of any advertisement attract you to it?
When it's not generic or boring.
9.) What are your views of Music and film downloading?
I know it's wrong, but I can't afford some things, so I download them illegally sometimes. If it's something I really like, I don't download it at all, not even on iTunes. I really
10.) How do you think music and film downloading has affected the market?
It's obviously brought down a lot of record and CD stores, which really sucks. =\
11.) If you wanted the latest CD that has been released, would you download it, or go to the shop and buy it?
If it was the latest CD I really wanted, then I'd buy it. If it's just a new CD I'm interested in, maybe ask someone else for it. >.

1.) What’s your favourite type of music?
I really don't know, I guess rock but that's extremely vague.
2.) Which are your favourite Band / BanRAB?
Nick Cave & The Bad SeeRAB, Book Of Knots, Velvet Underground, PJ Harvey
3.) What is your opinion of the music genre Dance?
Dance is really vague. Some I like, some I don't. Hip-hop can be good, but the stuff I like you can't usually dance to. Typical pop music is catchy and fun, but usually I wouldn't dance to it. The only stuff I would dance to is Electronic-based music like Steve Aoki or The Bloody Beetroots.
4.) What do you usually associate with dance music?
Crookers, Bloody Beetroots, Steve Aoki, Crystal Castles, etc
5.) Where do you most often see advertisements for this genre of music?
I used to see a lot of rave flyers. Pop music advertising is absolutely everywhere, as well as a lot of hip-hop.
6.) What makes a music video enjoyable for you?
If the music is good, and usually I don't watch the video. I like video's of concerts the best.
7.) How often do you buy music based magazines?
Never have, probably never will.
8.) What characteristics of any advertisement attract you to it?
Honesty, which I have yet to see in an advertisement. Honestly the two are like opposites.
9.) What are your views of Music and film downloading?
I think if artists just did gigs and all their music was free, they would still make millions. Thinking about it I don't even think it's fair they get so much in the first place.
10.) How do you think music and film downloading has affected the market?
I think it does it a lot of justice.
11.) If you wanted the latest CD that has been released, would you download it, or go to the shop and buy it?
Download. Download, download. Easy answer. If I want to support their works I'll mail them $20 freaking dollars and none of it will go to their manager.

You're welcome Sam.

Hi there, I am currently studying media at A Level and for my research in coursework I need to ask people a few questions and thought it would be a good idea to get other people than within my community to help me out
so I would really appreciate it if you could answer my questions, thanks!

1.) What’s your favourite type of music?
Electronica
2.) Which are your favourite Band / BanRAB?
Don't really feel like making this list atm, cause once I start naming banRAB I'm not gonna be able to stop.
3.) What is your opinion of the music genre Dance?
It's pretty fun. It really seems to bug some people, but I don't mind it most of the time.
4.) What do you usually associate with dance music?
Dancing? I donno
5.) Where do you most often see advertisements for this genre of music?
I really don't see much.
6.) What makes a music video enjoyable for you?
Usually anything that strays from the norm. Something that's not 4 guys headbanging on a stage or a fancy looking guy or girl dancing with 5 back-up dancers behind them. If it's not something similar to those it can usually at least hold my attention. If it's like a silent movie behind the, I guess that's usually the best kind of music video in my mind.
7.) How often do you buy music based magazines?
I don't.
8.) What characteristics of any advertisement attract you to it?
Gonna agree with the others and say honesty is pretty important. If it's clever in any way that helps as well.
9.) What are your views of Music and film downloading?
There's a million pro's and con's to both, that I'm not gonna take the time to list. Basically, it's great or lame depending on the user.
10.) How do you think music and film downloading has affected the market?
For music it's changing some things, sure. Some artists are coming up with new idea's in order to make their albums more appealing. It seems like more and more banRAB are on the road lately.
I also heard of a band named Gamma Borab making an unprecedented (I think) deal with their label called a "360-Deal". Basically, the label puts out all their albums for free to anyone who wants it can have it. Then all the merchandise/tour money the band pulls in is then split with the label. SounRAB pretty interesting and I'd be interested to see how that works out.

As far as movies are concerned...well that's a whole diffrent story that I'm not really interested in tbh.
11.) If you wanted the latest CD that has been released, would you download it, or go to the shop and buy it?
There's maybe 10 artists that I buy their CRAB on release still. I still buy a lot of albums, but being able to hear them 1st is pretty nice.

I do enjoy having the albums though, as I just like having the physical copy. Albums are a work of art, inlcuding the cover art, the notes/photo's inside, the way the cd itself looks, and any ad's that might be inside as well. The music is just one part, (although a pretty big part) of an album imo.

Thanks
Sam
