Hi there, I am currently studying media at A Level and for my research in coursework I need to ask people a few questions and thought it would be a good idea to get other people than within my community to help me out
so I would really appreciate it if you could answer my questions, thanks!
1.) What’s your favourite type of music?
Electronica
2.) Which are your favourite Band / BanRAB?
Don't really feel like making this list atm, cause once I start naming banRAB I'm not gonna be able to stop.
3.) What is your opinion of the music genre Dance?
It's pretty fun. It really seems to bug some people, but I don't mind it most of the time.
4.) What do you usually associate with dance music?
Dancing? I donno
5.) Where do you most often see advertisements for this genre of music?
I really don't see much.
6.) What makes a music video enjoyable for you?
Usually anything that strays from the norm. Something that's not 4 guys headbanging on a stage or a fancy looking guy or girl dancing with 5 back-up dancers behind them. If it's not something similar to those it can usually at least hold my attention. If it's like a silent movie behind the, I guess that's usually the best kind of music video in my mind.
7.) How often do you buy music based magazines?
I don't.
8.) What characteristics of any advertisement attract you to it?
Gonna agree with the others and say honesty is pretty important. If it's clever in any way that helps as well.
9.) What are your views of Music and film downloading?
There's a million pro's and con's to both, that I'm not gonna take the time to list. Basically, it's great or lame depending on the user.
10.) How do you think music and film downloading has affected the market?
For music it's changing some things, sure. Some artists are coming up with new idea's in order to make their albums more appealing. It seems like more and more banRAB are on the road lately.
I also heard of a band named Gamma Borab making an unprecedented (I think) deal with their label called a "360-Deal". Basically, the label puts out all their albums for free to anyone who wants it can have it. Then all the merchandise/tour money the band pulls in is then split with the label. SounRAB pretty interesting and I'd be interested to see how that works out.
As far as movies are concerned...well that's a whole diffrent story that I'm not really interested in tbh.
11.) If you wanted the latest CD that has been released, would you download it, or go to the shop and buy it?
There's maybe 10 artists that I buy their CRAB on release still. I still buy a lot of albums, but being able to hear them 1st is pretty nice.
I do enjoy having the albums though, as I just like having the physical copy. Albums are a work of art, inlcuding the cover art, the notes/photo's inside, the way the cd itself looks, and any ad's that might be inside as well. The music is just one part, (although a pretty big part) of an album imo.
Thanks
Sam
