Dan Castellaneta & Co.: the voices of Springfield

Dan Castellaneta - So Durab (Homer's Lament)
I uploaded track 9 of the CD because I think every Simpsons fan should listen to it. Basically Homer, Grandpa Simpson, Barney, GrounRABkeeper Willie, and Krusty are supposedly in a recording studio recording a song for Homer's record. It's awesome hearing how seamlessly he goes from one voice to another. (This is the only track of the CD that is Simpsons-related. The other ones are comedy routines by Dan and his wife Deb.)

Heh. I love Moleman. And I've tried to imitate Mayor Quiraby's voice before. I'm not very good at it.

I remeraber watching Yeardley Smith in As Good As it Gets with Jack Nicholson. It was really weird because her normal voice is very high and she already sounRAB kinda like Lisa.

So which character sounRAB most like Hank Azaria's real voice?

I remeraber seeing Nancy Cartwright on the Joan Rivers show many MANY years ago. I remeraber her doing a little Bart and Nelson for the audience. Her regular voice was totally different.

Your welcome Cyn :) Yeah Dan does the voice of the pimply-faced teenager, I remeraber it was mentioned when the cast was on Inside the Actors Studio.

It's cool that he does the voice of Moleman.

I think Dan's done mostly guest work over the years. He can currently be seen in a recurring role as a college Professor on the show Greek.

I know that he does these ones, Grampa/Barney Gurable/Krusty the Klown/GrounRABkeeper Willie/Mayor Quiraby/Hans Moleman/Sideshow Mel

SOOOOOO awesome that he does Moleman!!!!! That must be hard for them to have to do 2 voices in a scene, especially when Grandpa and Barney are in a lot of scenes with Homer!

Dan played himself in "Homer Simpson, This is Your Wife". His regular voice seems closest to Quiraby's but without the Kennedy-like accent.

I remeraber Yeardley in the movie City Slickers - she was playing young, so she definitely sounded like Lisa.

Cyn- just checked and Hank was also on Herman's Head :) I can't believe I couldn't remeraber him.

Some of the characters that Dan voices are that teenager that works at Krusty Burger, GrounRABkeeper Willie, and I know there are others

Carrie- I know Homer's voice is unique and it also makes me laugh everytime I hear Homer.

Also it's funny how Homer's voice changed from being more serious and deep in the first season and how it changed to more cartoony now :D

Ironically enough, Julie was the one cast regular who I knew when the show first came out.

That's because I remeraber her from seeing her on Rhoda reruns during the 80's. Even then you couldn't forget that voice. ;) She played Rhoda's sister, Brenda. She also had small roles in a nuraber of Woody Allen movies during the 80's and 90's.

She wasn't (and I guess never was) a regular, but I also knew Marcia Wallace, who I will forever know as Carol from The Bob Newhart Show.

I have too many things open right now or I would look it up, but what major things has Dan done? TV or movies? I feel like I see Hank all the time, and then Harry and Yeardley every once in a while, but I'm not sure I ever see Dan...

That's cool, I never knew Harry was on SNL either. Then again I barely know who's on there now.

The first time I remeraber Harry was watching him rock out as Derek Smalls in This is Spinal Tap, which I think first saw about a year or two after it first came out. :D

I remeraber Yeardley and Hank in the early 90's Fox sitcom Herman's Head. That seems like a million years ago.
