Damon Albarn vs Noel Gallagher

Alex James presenting Panorama about the Colorabian cocaine trade is being repeated on BBC1 right now.

"Hello , I'm Alex James and i'm a farmer , in a previous life I was the bass player in a band called Blur"

Or you could have Jarvis ****er who is both intelligent AND working class

Agreed , Blur without Coxon are nothing

He`s done some stuff with Death In Vegas too

If we are going by music i`ll say Albarn , personality i`ll say Noel. I don`t think he`s arrogant at all most of the banRAB he`s slagged off deserve it (Phil Collins , Starsalor , Keane ect ect).

I ****ing hate Gallagher, but his voice absolutely fantastic. It's a shame he and his bandmates can't write something halfway decent anymore.

Guitar banRAB have been big, are big, and will probably always be big. Creating Britpop wasn't exactly "changing the face of pop music", they were just a modernized version of The Beatles.

I don't think his voice is anything special. It's good, but I don't think it's fantastic.

Anyway, I voted Damon. I still feel guilty for voting Oasis in the Oasis vs. Blur thread so hopefully this evens things out.

I understand what you said about Jarvis ****er, but he was never really involved in this feud, was he? Pulp were majorly overlooked, which is a bloody shame.

I prefer Oasis as a band and Noel Gallagher's a talented man but he doesn't like to take any risks. Damon Albarn's got a lot going on and I genuinely believe that he's still got enough ideas to keep him going for at least another 10 years.

No contest. Anyone with half a brain can see that Damon Albarn is a much more innovative and talented musician than Snorel Gallagher. Hes been playing the same kind of bland generic ****e since 1994 and wont try anything too new cos theyre too closed minded and up their own arse. Just look at Blur's last album 'Think Tank' for example, Gorillaz or 'The Good The Bad & The Queen' album, all of which were brilliant new ideas and totally different to each other. What have Oasis done? The same old ****e theyve been putting out since 1894.
Oh, and if you need some education on Oasis: http://www.rabroad.com/675963-post20.html

I was talking about Oasis.

EDIT: You probably thought I was referring to Blur because of the "created Britpop" comment. I'm not even sure Oasis had that much to do with it, that's why I thought his comments were so funny.

Actually I thought both "Setting sun" and "Let forever be" were some of the best work Gallagher has ever done...

As much as I like Oasis (especially their earlier stuff) Blur have always been the more complex of the two, always reinventing themselves. The latest things Damon Albarn has been involved in - The Good The Bad The Queen, and his upcoming "Monkey" show in Manchester this summer - are quite remarkable. Can you imagine Noel Gallagher composing music for a Chinese acrobats' opera?

depenRAB what the question concerns. creative talent? well, obviously Albarn. pure songwriting genius? Gallagher hanRAB down.

In the end I give this to Gallagher, just because the sheer quantity of huge songs he's written make him an automatic legend.
