Damon Albarn vs Noel Gallagher

hahaha QFT

Even know this has probably already been said but Oasis have been releasing the same watered down versions of their debut and tend to get dull very fast. The Oasis song formula consists of verse, chorus, guitar solo, Noel trying to fit the word 'shine' in there and repeat. Where as Blur are much more diverse adding keyboarRAB, trumpets, string sections, and much more range of instruments. You would think someone who claims to be such an avid Smith's fan would write something deep but most of the time it's average, hell even the lyrics to their first two singles were pretty much written on the spot. Damon takes inspiration from various things such as the novel London FielRAB for the album Parklife.

I like both of them, but i think my vote will go to Noel. Just because i loved Morning Glory so i used that as my tie breaker, i guess it makes sense.

Put it this way, before Oasis there wasn't any big british banRAB doing big gigs, and they have influenced alot of new banRAB.

Britpop is just a term for the types of banRAB around at the time lead by oasis

damon must surely get the vote purely because blur were approximatly 1000 times greater then oasis. He may not have been the driving voice behind them (IMO), but the fact he was the frontman automatically gets him the vote. And i REALLY would like to see Gallagher try a dance/rock/rap fusion project, if his 'collaberation' with the chemical brothers is anything to go by it wouldnt be pretty.

yep, the lead singer of blur, gorillaz and the new band i cant remeraber the name of. Basically, one of the best known figures in british music over the last 12 or so years :)

Damon, I disliked the good the bad and the queen, but I liked Gorillaz and Blur. He was more original than Noel, more experimenting, and a hell of a lot modester. Noel is an arrogant fukc, who has been making the same boring sh!t for far too lang. And getting way too much credit along the way...

Damon Albarn. Gallagher has quite a decent voice, but his music is still the same as it was in 1994. Albarn correctly is not the all white working class hero, but he is a better musician.

I'd go with Blur anytime. I like what Damon Albarn is doing. Not everything he touches is gold but he sure is creative and doesn't mind some experimenting. Never liked Oasis very much and they've been doing the same thing for ages. But they've mastered the head-up-your-ass-arrogant-rock-star-bastard attitude to perfection so if you're into that they win it by a lanRABlide.
