So I just got off the phone with a recruiter for a private college that I was going to enroll in...and things were going good at first. My a.c.t. score was well above the requirements, I had 15 more credits than I needed, my g.p.a .3 above the min. that isn't great but its good enough. I had sombody who was willing to help me foot the massive bill, and everything was pretty much set up for me to be able to start next semester :).... Then came the killer question, have I ever been convicted of a crime. Crime not felony. I told him about the misdemeanors and the felonies, and both disqualify me to go their...FML. So even if I didn't catch those nice felonies I would have been denied. They have a great Biochem and chem facilities and that was what I was planning to go there for but so much for that... guess I'll have to look elsewhere.

That's rough dude... and apparently you need the education (unless by going to collage you meant you were going to a private collection of pictures :D)

Just busting your chops. Seriously though good luck finding something.

I wouldn't stress about it too much, honestly. If you look hard enough, I'm sure you can find a college -- private or otherwise -- that has a comparable quality of education.

Not that it doesn't blow.

Sucks, man. But keep your head up.

Go to a state school or even a community college (not a bad thing.) Hell, more than half of Cornell University is a state school. Your past will hinder you but it doesn't need to stop you.

Man, that's crap. You know what they say, if there's a will there is a way. Im sure that you can get in somewhere that will except you.

The bull part is that grown folk's weren't playing when they said what ever you do now will effect your future, and they wasn't lying.

**college
pot, meet kettle :p

i'm sorry corruptor! don't give up on school, though. i'm sure you will find other colleges that interest you. :hug2:

Eh, this does suck dude. I do feel sorry for you, but that doesn't change the fact that you did bring this on yourself. But I do hope things look up for you. It looks like you're pretty motivated, so I hope the best for you.

It was said already, but I'll say it again. Try for a state school. A lot of times they have a more lax approach to the rules. And a lot of times they'll make exceptions if your transcript looks good enough. Some state schools have programs that are comprable or even surpass the quality of a private insiutution. Good luck. Getting into school sucks enough without road blocks in the way.
