You really got lucky. I knew a guy who hit a big dog with his Road King and bent the front forks all the way back so the tire was against the front of the frame.
Wow. Glad you are okay. Rode across the Florida panhandle Thursday night - and thT's my fear. See them alongside the road a lot - but no near-misses yet for me.
How was the deer? Did it survive the impact. Those things are tough as nails. I've seen them get hit hard by cars and run away taking an impact that would have killed any human instantly.
Unknown. Chest was hurting too bad to go back around the corner to look. I know she wasn't lying in the road, but nothing else.
Thanks for all the well wishes. My wife thinks that I just play on this forum. She found out tonight that there are good people that care on here. I think she sees what I see on here.
I've noticed that once deer commit to a certain direction, they don't stop, even when they see us coming. You would think their instinct would be telling them, "new shape approaching, possible enemy, retreat."
Glad you are both OK.. Don't know about other states but here in WI, a m/v vs. wildlife crash is considered a no fault incident and comprehensive insurance covers it...
glad to hear you both are ok..ill do my best next month to thin a few does and hopefully a buck out to keep em from being on our roads..remember oct is the rut they will be running wild
