OK this morning i had to be at work by 6AM. So i was on the road heading in. Its about 5:30 in the morning and all of the sudden i hit black ice and the tail end of my truck goes slideing around ass end first. A telephone poll became a good friend with the passenger side door on my truck.
I managed to drive home but the truck is not worth even trying to save. The frame is bent and the door wont even open. The window is gone and the windshield is cracked.
So now im fucked majorly. I am to broke to buy a new truck but without i cant get to work, school or anywhere. I live out in the middle of nowhere so i cant even hitch a ride with anyone.
I just dont know what i did to deserve that...

Yeah i have insurance but my father doesnt want to claim it because he thinks that they'll just drop me off the insurance after. He wants to just scrap it and get a new vehical.

I've had something quite like this happen in the near past, it wasn't pretty. I had been driving down the road with a median in the middle of the highway. Well I was in a hurry and I was hauling ass at about 95 until I come over the hill and notice a stop light and two cars in each lane, so there was no possible way to stop. So I slammed on the brakes, cranked the wheel to the left and let off the brake...After that, it took me over the median, into the ditch and into the pole...By the time I hit that pole the speedometer was locked at 85...I am lucky to be alive.

that sucks showdown and the same to you swizeguy. shit like that sux but u should turn it in to the insurence. they shouldnt kick you off the policy since you hit black ice but since you have waited to call it in they might think of something suspicious.

i guess its a lose lose situation for ya but good luck.(no sarcasm)

hopefully everything will work out for you,

Swizeguy, you didn't do anything to "deserve" having an accident. These things happen all the time. I'm sure almost everyone on this forum who has been driving for any length of time has a horror story of their own.

Glad to hear you're okay though, and I hope you find a solution to your transportation problems soon.
