Consider the damage that time does to ancient sculpture in particular. Actually it is not terribly noticeable except in one regard -- virtually all the paint has worn off. Yes, it's true, the Greeks and Romans painted their statues in vivid and life-like colors. How does knowing this change your view of classical sculpture?
