I am looking to buy a 1198S and maybe a Hypermotard. Always wanted a Ducati and finally can get one (or two!). I'm trying to get some information on the two dealers in Dallas. Is one better than the other? The one in Plano is small, but the people seem nice. AMS is big, but further away. Since I'm looking at spending a lot of hard earned money, I want to ensure that I get with the right dealer. Anyone have any experiance/suggestions/thoughts?

dude, do yourself a favor and go to AMS. the services that you will do with them and the people working there are the best. you wont regret it. The owner is one of the best Ducati mechanics in the world.
 
Go to the AMS in Dallas, they are closing the one in Alverado and moving everything to Dallas. Talk to Marty, He will def hook you up! They are one of the most trusted dealers in the USA. Tell him Nathan sent ya.
 
Go to AMS in Dallas or Alvarado. Google Jeff Nash so you know who you are dealing with (or just look through the mages of some of the major motorcycle magazines. Jeff did the new seals on my 999R personally, and is a great guy. I live in Lubbock and could go to any of the dealerships in DFW or to Albuquerque (all about the same drive - 6 hours). I choose AMS.
 
I echo all the above......If you live wihin 75+ miles of DFW and your not 100% satifyed with your dealer. you've got to check AMS out.

Personaly I prefure the Alavarado shop, laiedback out in the country great ride. FWI.....The move to Dallas is not imminent (I hope not). Just ride out there, check it out VERY COOL. Just remember the shops closed Sat-Mon.
 
I was in your position about a year and a half ago. Scott was working at AMS, very aggressive salesmen, knew his shit, but was very pushy. we got into it, I said Eff the bike, and forgot about it....

fast forward to june this year, I started looking at bikes, didnt even think of going back to AMS as I wasnt treated like I wanted to be treated by scott. Called up European Cycles in Plano, talked with Sean, very helpful, very diligent, Jr was cool, I felt like family. I picked the bike up from them, brand new 1198, I was happy.

Fast forward 800 miles, ready for the first service, got on DFWDucatis, did some research, European cycles tech wasnt very knowledgeable, I wasnt a fan of that, I want someone who knows more about the bike than I do, working on it....

So I sent an email to Jeff at AMS, outlining my experience with his outfit in the past, I was hesitant to take it to them, but Im a fan of second chances....

AMS ended up doing the first service, a 14T, and cleaned it for me And on top of all that, Rosa waited almost 2 hours for me to get there. I was happy.

Im not a shop whore, I like both shops, like both guys. Each have their plus and minus, I dont drink either shops koolaid, I just ride the dog snot out of my bike and want the best for it.

Do your research, and see who fits your bill the best. I love AMS' show room, very nice. Makes me want to buy stuff...... Jr and the gang over at European cycles in plano make you feel like you are at home.

All I can say is do your research, in the end, you wont be dissappointed riding any duc
