Da Vinci Code

Watched the trailer and couldn't help thinking Tom Hanks was perhaps one of the most mis-cast charcters ever, looked ridiculous as Robert Langdon.

When I was reading the book, a slightly younger Harrison Ford was the obvious choice, but we can't really go back in time.

Hugh Jackman might've made it work?

I haven't seen the trailer yet so can't really comment on how well Tom Hanks looks yet though...

I haven't seen the trailer yet either but when I first discovered Tom Hanks had been cast as Robert Langdon I thought it was the worst casting decision I'd heard in a very long time.

Yet another good movie, with Tom Hanks starring when the rold of Langdon should have gone to Liam Neeson

He (Hanks) looks a bit like Grima Wormtongue/Brad Dourif in one of the shots. All greasey and creepy.

Harrison Ford would have been brilliant in this (even now he's old) and I think he does even mention Ford in the book.

I agree Tom Hanks is completely miscast.

Reading the book I picured a slightly sexy ruggid type. Someone like Vigo Mortesen I think would have been good.
Hanks is a good actor, but he's wrong for this role IMO, will have to wait and see.

Plus remember this is a big blockbuster, they want a big name!!

At least Audrey Tatou will be perfect, I can't think of anyone else who could do this role!

I cant wait to see the film as I loved the book but I have to agree with the mis-casting of Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon. As when I read the book Harrison Ford sprang to mind for the part of Robert Langdon but lets hope that Tom Hanks does a good job in it. The trailer does look good as I have seen it a few times when I have been to the cinema recently. The offical release date for The Da Vinci Code is the 19th of May!

im not sure about tom hanks in this role either - I think ian mckellen was perfectly cast though for the role of teabing.

When I read the book, I always thought that the role of sophie would go to Sophie Marceau

My wife told me that the 'da vinci code' is the second biggest selling book...after the bible!

having seen the trailer, i'm not so sure about Tom Hanks either. I guess I saw him as someone a little bit younger. I'm guess that Jean Reno is playing Fache? I pictured him as being this much older fat guy.
There seems to be a bit in the trailer where Sophie is under water - now I can't recall that in the book so I'm hoping that the movie isn't going to stray too much.

so, to quote the book (ish) 'the bible is the greatest book ever sold and the Da Vinci Code is the greatest book ever told ' ;)

I Only Started Buying The Book's Coz I Could'nt See Anything Else Buying!!!!!! And I Have To Admit They Are Some Of The Best Books I Have Ever Bought!! I'm On Angel's And Demon's Right Now And I Can't Wait 4more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not quite sure what i was going on about in the above quote????!!!!! the one above it made some sense!! then i must have lost it some how???  :D

After reading the book I can't believe that they would have cast Tom Hanks in this either... you never know though, sometimes it enRAB up working. It's definitely going to motivate me enough to go see it.
