D900,w850i or k800i?HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say it depends on your needs and your preferences in terms of form factor. If you live in North America, you will need the quadband and the EDGE of the D900 and the W810i.

If you live in a country that can take advantage of the 3G then the W850i is the obvious choice.

In terms of music, both of the walkman phones are better choices over the D900 if only because they can be expanded to 4GB with a pro duo card. Also, the W850i seems to have the best external music controls making it a viable alternative to say an iPod Nano.

In terms of camera, the D900 has a 3.2MP and is supposed to take really good quality pics. Both Sony phones have decent 2.0MP cameras, and the back of thier phones actually looks like standalone digital camera and pictures are taken with the camera landsape orientation. Although the megapixels aren't as high with the Sonys, they are probably among the best 2.0MP phones in the market. The Sonys have a LED flash, though not as effective as a real flash, it does usually help in dark situations, while the Samsung does not have a flash.

If you want a thin form factor, the D900 is one of the thinnest if not the thinnest slider form factors in the market. The W810i is nice and small, but it has the boring "bar" form factor. The W850i is one of sony ericsson's first slider phones, although it's not as thin as the D900 it still looks pretty good.

If talk time is important, the D900 has about 6 hours while the W810 has about 8 hours. Not sure about the W850.

Personally, out of the choices you provided I'd go for the D900, since it's Samsung's flagship phone with all the bells and whistles. The W850i would have been a good choice if it had quadband/EDGE because of the music capabilities.

The W810i is a solid phone but it's been in the market for a while as a reworked version of the K750i. If I were to get a Sony Ericsson, I'd get the K750a over the W810i because of the camera and real flash.

Hah I am in the same position. I am planning to go for a D900 since well...so far I've had a flip phone and two candybar phones. I figure hey let's go for a change, so I'm going to go for the slider.

I think in the future I may get another flip phone since for some reason it's rather satisfying to hang up by flipping the screen down with a *clap* lol. Just need to see what the future holds in store for flip phones...

Well I'd like a phone with a good mp3 player but I don't want a camera that is worse than my w800i exept of course if I like the phone too much

The way I see it, if you want a good all around phone I think the D900 is the choice to get. Also if 850mhz band is important to you then D900 is the only phone out of the lot that has it.

the W850, being branded a walkman phone, is probably the best out of the three for playing music. It's got dedicated controls for play functions if you find convenience something to have. Its camera probably isn't bad, being a 2mp camera just like the w800, except there is no autofocus I think, so you'd better have a steady hand to take those pictures.

lastly, the k800 would most likely take the best pictures, since it's main focus is on the cybershot branding of the phone. 3mp camera, autofocus, and a brighter flash than the other two.

Here's what i think are the important aspects of each of the phones and where the primary/secondary focus (in terms of what you're looking for) is:

D900: Slim, Slider, 850mhz, good all around mp3 player and camera (maybe equal primary/secondary)

W850: about a finger's width thicker than D900. no 850mhz. Primary: mp3 player, Secondary: camera

K800: about same as W850 in thickness. no 850mhz. Primary: camera, Secondary: mp3 player.

This is all coming from a general point of view as I don't know how the W850 and K800 actually perform. Take it as you will, I have slightly more of a bias towards the camera than the mp3 player in a phone, but really I wouldn't mind either way. I'm really just looking for a change from the candybar style of phone (my last two were candybars, and both SE), and I couldn't find a flip phone that I really liked. I also don't like the look of the W850 that much, so I'm planning to get a D900. IMO it looks pretty sweet so that helped me make my decision a little too.
