ok so my mate i and i walked in to a phone shop and he got the w810 and i got the D600.... now we need to prove whats phone better.....

dont get me wrong i think the w810 a brillant phone..but i think the D600 is a little better...

opinions and thoughts,....

OK, I'm curious about these two phones, but only if I can find the d600e with EDGE as without EDGE the w810i has a distinct advantage on t-mo US. Looking on eBay all the d600's are all listed as such with no d600e's appearing. Digging into the ads some show the phone having EDGE and some don't. What to do, and has anyone used both of these phones to give a real comparison? Obviously the w810i is a newer handset but they seem to offer comparable features with the d600e being about $100 cheaper and having a heckuva lot more shared RAM than the w810i.

Please don't just say XYZ is better, give me a reason. What can I do with one that I can't do with the other? Does either offer a distinct advantage as far as Java apps, web browsing, Google Local, email configuration (specifically Yahoo! email). They both offer bluetooth, EDGE, 2.0MP cameras and are in the same ballpark size-wise. I know the SE's firmware is user serviceable (for a fee). What about Samsung's (yeah, I know, I need to read about that myself, and will)?

I just sold my old RAZR today for $200 (suckah!) and am disenchanted with my Nokia 6682. I'm ready to try one of these two brands, and unless I get a WM5.0 brick phone I just want a full-featured smallish non-smartphone handset that can serve as an airplane mode MP3 player as well. Obviously it needs to offer excellent reception and good UI.

Looks to me like either phone would be cool to own so convince me . . . which one is better - the money is burning a hole already!

Nevermind - I now know the d600e is only tri-band. It might not make a difference on T-mobile but with their heavy 850 expansion I think the w810i is a better choice for me.

Does the quad-band version have EDGE data? If that's the case then I am mistaken but everything I've seen (e.g. what gsmarena shows) is that the d600 is quadband but lacks EDGE and d600e is tri-band lacking 850 but does have EDGE.

Tell me they're wrong (better yet, prove it). Obviously you are a believer in the d600 and it looks like a great phone.

D600 does not have EDGE. i've never heard of D600e, maybe it's only available in the states. it doesn't make sense that D500 supports EDGE and D600 does not.

d600 looks as good a phone as the w810i, particularly for the pocket since it's a bit shorter with the slider closed, but I do use data quite a bit on my phone and so EDGE is kind of key, and t-mobile has a lot of 850.

Actually T-mobile offers a Sammy slider (d820 I think) so I'll look for some opinions on that. It doesn't look as physically solid as the d600.
