D.Gray-Man: the anime TV series talkback

Well, on another board (whose site I cannot name), they mentioned that D.Gray-Man will continue well into Deceraber. Besides, the series just got a new opening and ending which proves it will keep going. That alone makes this excellent as it appears that the staff do intend on finishing the story.

It's exciting to see them going past 52, and back to canon material at last. The 3rd opening definitely ramped up my anticipation.

I did generally enjoy those filler episodes, however. Although a couple of them were repetitive, they were generally fairly good.

If they decide to follow the manga all the way out who knows how long it will be, b/c of now it is still on hiatus

Last thing that happened was that the arc was breaking down and Marion Cross had showed up and saved Allen and gang from Mega Ultra Tiki Mikki

Anyone still interested in this show? I finally got caught up, after making it up to episode 30, stopping for a bit and now I am up to speed and waiting for the next episode to arrive.

Warning: SPOILERS!

I got to say, the Noah have to be some of the most badass villains I have every seen, especially Tyki, he is just plain cruel, and yet I like him a lot as a character. When he was about to kill Allen I kind of felt as if he wanted to be frienRAB, the way he was talking to him, but the Earl got in the way of that, along with his own bloodlust. Gah! I miss Lenalee's hair, I really liked it long, I really dislike it short, however the new uniforms look tight, and it is nice to see Miranda has gotten better, such a bitter sweet power you could say. I still dislike Arystar, I just don't like his character, and while Lavi can be annoying I also think he is pretty badass.

I want to see more of the Noah's, which is seemingly coming up given the OP and the scenes in Edo, I seriously have no idea how the Exorcists are going to fight those level 3s, there are just way to many of them to handle.

I was expecting Allen to get his Anti-Akuma weapon back, but damn I didn't expect an upgrade like that, his hanRAB look awesome. I am kind of wondering if it really is an Anti-Akuma weapon, and not part Akuma itself, as he said he fights for the demon with his...left hand? I believe.

I can't wait till we meet Cross, he better be incredible or something for all they have built up to him, and I am excited to see everyone get back together, I wonder if the other General will join the fight, which would be cool.

But yeah. 71 came out today, I hope they don't waste to much time, and episodes, I just want Allen to get to Edo and start destroying them all hardcore.

I haven't watched past episode 60. However, ever since the anime got back on track with the manga, it had been nothing short of amazing. The Suman Dark arc was so incredibly well executed that I thought that D.Gray-Man had officially proved itself as a great Shonen Jump series. The Noahs and the Earl are also some of the most memorable villains I have ever seen. They act badass enough to be considered pure villains but live their lives out like a regular family. That is great characterization if I ever saw one.

I'm really hoping for this show to be licensed soon. In fact, I would be flabbergasted if this show wasn't licensed this year.

P.S. Zechs, please use the spoiler tags next time you're going to post spoilers, mmkay?

I don't consider it a hardcore spoiler when the episode has been released and has been out for a week, I am just warning those who haven't gotten that far, but I felt no need to put tags as it is already out, people should come in here expecting to read the latest on the most current episode.

Edit: And one thing I really have to compliment thise show on is on the OPs they have chosen, the songs, to me, are very nice. They flow well with the images, and they just sound nice, but yeah the images look awesome, especially the newest OP.

Nevertheless, there are still some people who haven't watched that far into the series. I still think it is in the best interest of everyone here.

The Opening and endings? They are sung quite nice. Opening 3 is amazing! They synthesized piano medley at the beginning was a very nice touch!

One thing I am confused about though, are Akuma really that sad that they are Akuma? Some of them seem perfectly content with it, maybe a bit sad they killed the person close to them, but other than that they don't show it. Take Lulu Bell's manicurist as an example, her name escapes me, but she pretty much loved Lulu Bell, and she also seemed to like her, or acknowledged that she was useful, which made her happy, so was that Akuma actually sad, or what? It was pretty hard to tell. And the converted Akuma, we need to learn more about them, as I am also failing to see if they are sad or not. I get that they HAVE to follow the Earl, but that doesn't mean they need to be happy, which plenty of them seem to be.

I haven't read the original manga so I'm not sure. Some Akuma appear sad when they are forced to do the Earl's bidding and kill innocent people. Other Akuma who enjoy being who they are probably were sad at first but became corrupted over time after doing so much killing to the point where they completely disregard their past lives as human beings Just a theory.

The Iron Fan maid's name was Mimi by the way and she did have a human side to her that wanted to be with Lulubell but was still willing to kill others.

Remeraber, the Akuma and the soul they are powered by are completely different, though the Akuma may be influenced by the soul. Akuma, for the most part, are perfectly content with killing everything, as that's what they were made to do, although some start to gain personality traits that contradict this. However, the soul suffers more and more as the Akuma kills and levels up.

And yes, the anime has greatly improved once it returned to canon. It's a shame that some people aren't willing to give it a second chance.

73 was INSANE. I am really enjoying Tyki, he is just the perfect villain. He is sinister, snide and he is actually GOOD at what he does. I mean, if you are a villain, you should like killing people, plain and simple. The bigger guy...forget his name, he is a bit weird with his sweets.

Lavi...you have so many other seals...USE THEM! Obviously if some others aren't working, you need to try something else. Seriously, it gets annoying when he uses the same thing over and over again.

I still dislike Lenalee's hair, and it is cool that she might have the heart. Somehow though I don't think she does, her innocence is just acting up. I could be wrong however...

Kanda is very arrogant, but one is truly an idiot if they say he isn't a good fighter. He knows what he is doing and I am looking forward to seeing his fight end.

Allen showing up at the end was pure torture to us fans. Plus, he totally looked like a badass when he did. I am curious as to what Tyki's reaction will be.

Theyre only at 73? I figured they would have been at about 75 by now, but thats cool, I prefer watching D.Grayman by the bulk or so. Still I gotta check this episode out.

I honestly suggest catching up. You might want to wait until 74 though haha. 73 made me want to kill myself the way Allen appeared...74 is the icing on the cake.

So I decided to check out the newest opening. In my opinion, best one the show has had. It's seriously cool stuff. Makes me want to watch the anime again, considering I gave up on it after the arc where they first meet Miranda.

Once again, an attempt at a revival. I'm surprised no one even bothered to bump this when FUNi licensed this series.

Anyway, 96 is out, and we see that Professor Hitlerclone (aka Levierre) and his assistant, Link, are surprisingly good bakers. More importantly however, just a few episodes after the end of the Ark Arc, we've already reached another big all-out brawl as Lulu Bell and several Akuma invade the Black Order base.

The anime is getting really close to the manga, so don't be surprised if we see a big filler arc once this invasion is over and done with.

A bit late, but with episode 100, we not only mark, well, 100 episodes, but also the introduction of old beer-belly (aka the Level 4 Akuma). I think the anime handled him rather well.

There have been rumors flying around that the anime will be ending at episode 104. On one hand, it makes some sense, considering how absurdly close the anime is to the manga (there's only the rest of this arc, the aftermath, and the short zorabie invasion comedy arc before the current arc in the manga). On the other hand, however, the only source, I believe, is some random post on 2chan, and these exact same rumors were earlier applied to episode 52, and we all know how that turned out.

I could live with the series ending for about six months or even a year, and then coming back as "D.Gray-Man Requiem" or something.

Actually, it is ending at Episode 103. At least with broadcast is concerned. Newtype posted a summary that lists Episode 103 as "Last Episode". The Japanese Guide at Syoboi, lists 103 on multiple TV Stations as the "End" for Episode 103 as well. It's not a rumour. It's an actual fact.

The thing is, we don't know if it's going to actually be over at 103.

The summary that Newtype listed, suggusts that we won't even see an end to the Level 4 Akuma and it enRAB on a cliffhanger. This of course, might have left out details from the episode, but I'm a bit uneasy about that summary...

Episode 104 was originally scheduled, but it seems to have been changed to end broadcast at 103.

So yeah...

Regarding this, some television networks did stop broadcast at Episode 51. What probably happened was these listings were listing 51 as the last episode and as a result, most places assumed the series was going to end there. From what I recall of 51, with the way it enRAB, really suggusted TMS Entertainment was going to just leave it open and end the series there. 52 and up are considered Season 2 by TMS Entertainment.
