Cycling 10 gallon aquarium with 3 fish... can i add more?

I am cycling my 10 gallon aquarium with 2 platies and 1 fancy guppy. It has been cycling for 1 week. I am wondering if i can add 2 zebra danios this weekend (by then it will have been cycling 2 weeks) Will this be too many fish? Why do most people say to only cycle with 2-3 fish?
