cv axle 98 ford taurus?

someone replaced a cv axle in the car and when they test drove it they heard a loud pop and now you can push the car in park does anyone know if he did it wrong and broke something our the tranny happen to go it ran perfect until he changed that and he really did not know how to thanks for your help

Something is wrong if your car make a loud pop. Get it checked or inspect to look for obvious damage.

I dont think they locked it in when they installed it, there is a (C) clip that when you insert the axle it has to click when pushed into the tranny case, it may have slipped out.
