cut and paste?

Im new to the droid and to smart phones in general. What's the easiest way to cut and paste in gmail? Thanks for any insights you
can provide.

Android does supply cut/copy and paste.

When you are in edit box, bring the menu, and you could see an option.

On my Desire with Android 2.2, I move the cursor to where the start of the text I want to cut, copy or paste, then do a long-press in the edit box to get the menu. I get 'Select all', 'Select text', 'Cut all', 'Copy all', and 'Paste'. If I choose 'Select text' then the menu disappears and I can use the trackball to move the cursor to select more or less text. Then I long-press to get the menu again and this time I get 'Select all', 'Stop selecting text', 'Cut', 'Copy', and 'Paste'. Seems like all the options are covered.

If I long-press and get a menu but change my mind, I just press the Back key to make the menu disappear.
