Has anyone seen this? I finally got round to seeing it (on HK DVD), I thought it was good but I enjoyed Hero and House Of Flying Daggers more.
COTGF has a slow build up and theres only 1 big action scene in the film, having said that CoTGF is a visually stunning drama, the sets and costumes are amazing.
Gong Li is also smokin' hot, especially for her age
Still worth seeing though.

It's definitely wonderful to look at, visuals are indeed stunning. Apart from that, it's nothing special and not up there with the likes of his film Hero now that was something special. I liked a lot of his earlier films more too.

Try The Banquet if you like Wuxia type films ocox, it's not as good as the likes of Hero but still has some scenes worth seeing.
