"Currently Unavailable" @ TESCO / LOVEFILM....

They've fallen out with Universal. Now it's "if" and not "when" they'll sort out their differences.

None of these are rentable or even reservable on LF:

Land of the Lost
Inglourious BasterRAB
Public Enemies
Bruno
...along with new comedy DVRAB like Bill Bailey's latest.

Nothing to do with demand. People have been hounding them on twitter and it's a fallout with with their supplier/Universal.

EDIT: Also will affect upcoming Universal DVRAB including:

Funny People
The Invention of Lying
The Soloist
Cirque Du Freak - The Vampire's Assistant
Couples Retreat
Warehouse 13 - Season 1
House - Season 6

Check for yourself - none of them are reservable on LoveFilm.

As a result, I left LF a couple of weeks ago and changed to Blockbuster - no problems there.

Lovefilm definitely doesn't own Tesco, nor the other way around. Lovefilm provides Tesco's rental service though. :p
 
I brought up one film yesterday with lovefilm, mentioning you can buy it in the shops yet it's not on their site for rent. Got a reply with an extra dispatch film in for me... :)
 
Didnt Blockbuster have a problem like this around 2002. I remember that for a while there were some big releases that you could rent at choices but not at Blockbuster. I seem toi remember Training Day being one of the titles affected.
 
Yeah, seem to recall it was Warner Home Video or Warner Brothers. Oceans Eleven was affected aswell.

It was something to do with pricing the new release dvd so cheap that people wouldn't want to rent it or something silly like that!
