The link will take you to an interesting article about the future of free online viewing of tv shows, with an emphasis on the impact of the sale, pending government approval, of NBC to Comcast.

Just one point to consider is the fact that Comcast, whose main business is charging people to watch tv, will now own a share of Hulu, the leading site to watch tv for free.

I've really began watching shows online much more this television season, though I still watch all sports and news on tv.

well..i don't watch t.v on either really.... if i do sit down, i watch a MOVIE but usually an older one.
 
I have joined the current trend of people who have turned the t.v. off and threw the set away because of the crap they call entertainment today.
 
I still watch television rather than watching a show on laptop or desktop. However, I do believe the day is coming when all television will be watched from computer.
