Is there a website that reports the current satellite signal condition?

I was away all weekend and I lost my signal at midnight on Friday according to what shows got recorded and its still off the air. The first thing I'd like to know is that the signal being sent is good before I waste time checking the equipment on the roof.

If the entire expressvu service was down, or even a single channel, it would typically be reported here. You could of course call in to ExpressVu as well and inquire if your subbed channel has an issue as once in a while there is a transmission problem, but typically it only lasts a short period (minutes rather hours).

If you provide specifics (channel, receiver model, etc) maybe someone could help you troubleshoot the problem.

Sudden loss of signal on Multiple receivers, is indicative of a Power Supply failure on the SW44.

It is rare for all receivers to die at the same time, although I can think of several reasons when it does happen.

Please post more specifics and I am sure we will try to help.

Since you don't mention having called BEV support, have you done that? Is there a reason why you would want to check equipment on the roof before even calling in? ;)

If there was a general problem on Express Vu's side they would say it on the recording you listen to before getting to an agent...

Thanks Nimiq 1, you were right. My power supply is cold and bypassing the SW44 switch restored the channels--minus satellite 82 of course. New switch on the way according to Bell.

We had rather high winds over the weekend and I installed a new dish myself so the first thing that came to mind was something I had done wrong in mounting the dish. I just assumed the sw44 switch was good for ever. Now I hear those things burn out rather frequently.
