Current Bands we will be talking about in 25yrs

I hope they use their last middle of the album to put them on a stage, so they can release the music they know they are capable of. In an interview they said they have a few songs that sound like Only By The Night, but they have some other different ones too. The way they worded it though, it sounded as if they knew OBTN was piss poor and they're going to rectify it.

Back in the day, they were my pocket band, Red Morning Light off Fifa 2003. :D and then everyone started talking about them.

But I honestly believe they'll be talked about in years to come, mainly because they're all related, and I think they'll carry on making another 5 albums at least. That's 15 or so years of work right there..

Not really. Their big break was several years after those banRAB and it's not like those banRAB were innovators to begin with.

Justin Bieber's a ****ing Canadian!

btw, he really is a huge ****ing tosser, I recall coming upon a twitter entry from him saying "I'm here at the Grammys blah blah screaming girls....oh and Ringo Starr's here, he's causing quite a stir himself"

like, really dude? You think you're bigger **** than Ringo Starr?

This is just a short list I thought of on the spot
The Good
The Mars Volta
The remnants of At The Drive-In who moved on from Post-Hardcore to Progressive Rock, they'll be known for their unique playing, conceptual albums, high energy, and Cedric's Robert Plant-esque vocals

Radiohead
Personally I am not the biggest fan of Radiohead, but they became extremely popular particularily because of Kid A corabine their electronic, progressive, unique sound with a downloadable album in which you could optionally pay they erabodied the spirit of 00's.

The White Stripes
An influential and important band of the 00's they kept Garage Rock alive and well and they did it all with no bass player!

Eminem
Yes, I know he released The Slim Shady LP in 1999, but his popularity and dominance over African-American hip-hop/rap stars reigned supreme.

Kanye West
Okay, I can already hear the bitchin' and complaining, but as much of a douchebag Kanye is, his music is very good and he took sampling to a WHOLE 'NOTHER LEVEL.

Arctic Monkeys
Their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not became the fastest selling album in the UK and their corabination of British accents, guitar attacking sounRAB, and first-person narratives has us singing along.

The Bad
Green Day
Two worRAB: Washed up. Let's all agree on this and face the facts that if you bought any of their albums in the 00's you were an American Idiot.

Every Disney Channel Star (Jonas Brother, Miley Cyrus, etc.)
I think the title explains it all ^^^^

Lil' Wayne
Besides coining the term "bling" and appearing on every album in the 00's no one will remeraber him, although its amazing he did all this in between prison and his "purple drank" binges.

Kanye West
Even though he released some great music, he is still a jackass.

Arcade Fire
Arctic Monkeys
KOL
The White Stripes (formed in 97 but meh, first album came out on the turn of the millenium)

I hope The Courteeners and Twisted Wheel :D but I doubt it

Not during the daytime obviously because of their content.
But lets look at the evidence shall we..

a national TV appearence & a national newspaper front cover before they even released a note.

National news report in the US on the Sex Pistols before they even played a gig there.

The Clash bring Times Square to a stanRABtill and play 15 nights in a row there.

I think that's pretty much as mainstream as mainstream gets.

I guess Lady Gaga represents a younger generation, and maybe you have to be young in order to connect with her music, I myself cant relate to her music period, I'd rather have to listen to 'Lou Reed' again instead of Gaga to be honest, but to each his/her own...she is sexy.

^

I really don't think so...not only is her music incredibly popular, but she is very outspoken and has her hand in multiple medias (like fashion). She even gets respect from a lot of music buRAB who normally dismiss your everyday pop diva. Hell, I even have a bit of respect for her. The girl is so damn weird, but she does what she wants...

That and as I've said before, she is huge despite looking like a foot.

Edit: this was to scissorman

Who else brought punk so mainstream (not trying to be a smartass... I'm learning)? And the "Year Southern California Pop Punk Broke" was 1994, the same year blink released Chesire Cat...
