Current Bands we will be talking about in 25yrs

Good point by Neapolitan. Sleeper BanRAB. Good turn of phrase I'd not heard before.

Some banRAB do seem to creep up to their "Immortal Fame" or still be talked about 25 years on. The Libertines is an example of a possible. Also I think Elbow could also be a Sleeper Band. A sound that is new and always experimental will go far. Take Pink Floyd for example. Very Experimental but not so Accessible to all. Elbow Experiment but sell music to more and more each day.

Also when a band meraber dies in a group this can help. Take Jim Morrison and the Doors. Ian Dury. Janis Joplin.

When an artsit dies we all start to see someting we may have missed.

Its sad when an artist gets more appreciated after death...

Exceptions to these are people like any of the Beatles, Elvis, Jackson.
 
Nobody talks about Sean Paul anymore. Or Nelly. Or 50 Cent. Or Eminem. Nobody talks about Missy Elliot. People are stopping talking about Tiesto and Crazy Frog and starting talking about Skream and Benga. Pop music is dead.
 
Some people, like me, think they were at their best in the 80s. Others think the BSSM early 90s era was their peak and I'm used to debating 80s vs 90s with those people. But I think you are literally the only person I've ever encountered who thinks they hit their stride in the 00s. Do you think U2 hit their stride in the 00s too? :p:


Apples and oranges. First of all, the the Beatles lasted only one decade as band while RHCP are going on their third. Like I said before, the Stones the 80s would be a more accurate comparison. Or maybe Aerosmith in the 90s, Pink Floyd in the 80s, something along those lines. Also, the Beatles didn't release any albums at all during the time period you're talking about, unlike the Chili Peppers, who prior to the 00s had already released 7 LPs, most of which sold extremely well.
 
The Strokes were loved by both the underground and critics so the hipsters were just waiting for a reason to hate them. Now that hipsters don't like them, their kiRAB will. It's just how it works... :)

The Kings of Leon (sad but true, music lovers will fondly remeraber them "before they sucked" the rest of the world will be busy buying tickets for their second farewell/reunion tour, I call it the Black Sabbath effect)

There's a lot of banRAB I hope we'll be talking about for a long time, but they've yet to hit the mainstream, which is kind of a pre-requisite.
 
That sounRAB like you agree with me then. I prefer their 80s output, but I definitely think the 90s was the height of their popularity and influence and whatnot.
 
I dunno about that. As much as I can't stand the sight, let alone sound of her, she is a pretty unique performer. I reckon her impression's quite a lasting one myself anyway.
 
I reckon Blink-182, Dream Theater, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, 30 SeconRAB to Mars, Mew and maybe Enter Shikari but it's hard to tell right now.
