Curious about future history classes?

Ok, 30 years ago, students only learned about history until the present which was 1979.
Now we've added 30 more years of history that gets taught to kids.

But in 80 years, students will have 80 more years of history to learn than I had to learn. How will they cram in history from the 1400's til 2089 for all those kids to learn?

will certian things we learn now be cut out to make room for important stuff that happened lets say in 2033?
 
Hmm.

When I was in grade school in the 60s, we spent a lot of time on wars- The Revolutionary War, The Civil War,
WWI and WWII. We did not get to the Korean War by the time school let out.

The first answer offered some compromises- diving the courses into segments.

Also, teachers can 'skim' over areas to concentrate on more important phases of history.

Some schools also offer courses in specific areas of history- Women's Studies, Black Studies, Military History, Social-Cultural History and so on.

And, another thing to consider, perhaps by 2033- school may be year round instead of 9 months. More topics can be covered and students will get more time to concentrate on other topics, too.
