I was recently diagnosed with spondyliolisthesis and my spine doctor recommenRAB a circumferential stabilization and fusion on L3-L4 in the near future. Anyone have any comments or had this procedure done? It sounRAB very painful and a long recovery period. Any comments are welcome.

Hmmm...I've not heard the term "circumferential stabilization" before...but I'll be keeping my eye on this post, as I have grade 2 spondy @ L5/S1...although I'm trying to avoid surgery as much as possible. But on some days, it's really tough to NOT think about wanting a permanent solution to my low back pain.

yeah you don't have to tell me about the pain. My legs are the worst part of it.
The muscles hurt sooo bad in thighs and calfs I can't walk for over 5 minutes.
Trying to avoid surgery too but it's not looking that way for me. I did look up both worRAB in the dictionary and sort of got an idea. You know how doctors write things out. Thanks for the reply. Linda

I believe that is what they typically call a 360 degree fusion. Done from the front, hardware on both sides. This is the procedure I will have as a revision surgery.

Sorry for all your surgeries rainiermec. That's what I'm most afraid of. This back stuff really sucks. Take care

This will be #4 on the same level. Hardware Failure, Loose scews, Non-Unions. Now a broken bone. Seems like it will never end. On the bright side I have a friend who had the same fusion I had about the same time and could not feel better. I think it is more to do with your personal anatomy and activity level that determines most things. I seem to be the lab rat on this one.;)
